Kevin O'Donovan
I love cinema, but I currently do not approach it with a strong aesthetic or ideological perspective. I am hoping that my participation in this forum will allow me to develop such a perspective and to have it challenged by both readers and my fellow contributors. In postmodern (forgive the cliche) fashion, I can cobble together what I generally like in my moviegoing experience: foreign films, documentaries, intelligent political thrillers, sophisticated morality tales, and nuanced psychological profiles. I generally do not like children's fare, horror, and musicals.
On a daily level, I work as a Research Assistant/Project Coordinator for a medical education company in Chapel Hill, NC. Besides cinema, I am interested in chess, classical music, continuing medical education, Latin American Studies, libertarian social and political theory, theology, and Web design. I maintain a personal blog that is updated semi-regularly, and yes: I shall re-post material from cinekklesia on my own blog so as to make the latter look more robust than it actually is. At least I'm honest about it!
